Educating About Bullying
Our aim is to educate the potentially fatal consequences that bullying can have. Bullying is not just pulling hair and kicking out, those physical scars will heal but the underlying mental impact must not be ignored. Words also hurt and can have a negative impact on a young person’s mental health. With the advent of social media and smartphones, young people today are exposed not only to bullying from peers, but harmful content online potentially 24 hours a day.
We hope by telling Kibi’s story we can educate those that seek to bully others that their actions can cause someone to reach the point where they’ve had enough and “can’t take it anymore”. This is what happened to Kibi and was the final words she said to her girlfriend the evening of her tragic death.
We need your support to be able to educate young people and tell Kibi’s story in schools, youth clubs to hope that bullies will realise what they are doing is wrong and that those being bullied will speak out and get support.
